Cessna and two after market companies have developed an exemption to to qualify the C500/550/S550 aircraft to be flown single pilot. The exemption will permit a person to be eligible for single pilot operations who has minimum of 500 hours of pilot in command or copilot time, or a combination of both, in turbojet or turbine powered airplanes.

Single pilot operations in a Part 23 Citation can be excercised if the following is met:

  • The model number ends in a "1" and, the three above (top) equipment requirements are met

Single pilot operations in a Part 25 Citation can be excercised if one or more of the following is met:

  • Exemptions from Cessna 4050
  • Exemptions from Sierra Industries
  • Exemptions from Shannon 6480

A pilot exemption for the above can be provided in conjunction with recurrent training at PrestoSim, Flight Safety International, Simuflight or other simulator bases schools. The exemption is only good for one year and must be done in the aircraft the first time. Renewals of the exemption can be done in a simulator.
