Foreign Pilots / Single Pilot
CE-500 Type Rating qualifies you to PIC (Pilot in Command) the Citation 500, 501, 550, 551 & 560. Cessna uses the names: Citation, Citation SP, V, Ultra, Encore & Bravo for Citations requiring a CE-500 type rating. Co-pilot (if required) requires a minimum of a Private, Multi engine & Instrument ratings.
Now you can save time and money with our personalized CE-500 type rating in warm/sunny southwest Texas OR at your location. Compare the costs and schedules in a simulator based school (i.e. Flight Safety International and Simuflight). They will charge about $17,000 and require 10 days minimum and must be done at their location!
Our professional instructors can train you one on one to obtain your type rating in a minimum of 3 days. More days will be required only if needed. Prepare at home (home study if you want) or learn the systems with us and fly the necessary maneuvers with our instructor for CE-500 type rating endorsement!

Major factors that determine the cost of a type rating are:
- Pilot experience/background
- Your aircraft or ours
- Price of Jet A
So how much for a type rating? The Minimum time/cost for an
experienced jet pilot could be as low as $7500.00 using our aircraft. If you
have a Citation to train and do the check ride in, the cost is of course would
be lower.
Form FAA8710 (endorsement):
- $600.00 x 2 (daily instruction rate)
- $900.00 x 2 (hourly aircraft rental)
- $1000.00 x 2 (hourly fuel)
Check Ride:
- $1500.00 (examiner)
- $900.00 x 2 (hourly aircraft rental)
- $1100.00 x 2 (hourly fuel)
= $10,500.00 for a CE-500 type rating (no restrictions)
Repeat, these numbers are a sample for an experienced pilot. Your cost could
vary up or down.
Also if you use a simulator based school for your initial type rating there will be restrictions. The FAA will require you to have 25 hours with a CE-500 captain of Initial Operating Experience (IOE) in order to activate the rating!
